The correct answer is forty one. Kidding. When I'm asked this question, there's a few famous names come to mind that are some of the best in their field and achieved success, fame, or skill mastery despite starting early or late in life. Perhaps, you'll recognize a few of these faces:

Vera Wang, the renowned fashion design empresses of our time didn't enter the industry until she was 40 years old. Thank goodness she did!

Mark Zuckerberg, the creator of Facebook, launched his social media platform at only 19 years old. The company is now worth 60+ billion USD.

Martha Stuart worked for a Connecticut catering firm before publishing her first book at the age of 41, making her the face of professional cooking.

Alan Rickman, in the earlier years of life pursued a career in graphic design. He even opened his own art studio. At the age of 26, he decided to attend acting school but it took 16 years before his talents were recognized. It wasn't until he was 42 years old that he starred in his first film. What would pop culture be without his moving role of Professor Snape?

Samuel L. Jackson took interest in acting from his early 20s. It wasn't until his outstanding performance in Pulp Fiction that he gained traction in his career, which happened at the age of 46.

Grandma Moses, a well-known painter for her American country-style artwork didn't begin learning to paint until she was 78 years old. Her work was so successful she was given an award by U.S. President Harry S. Truman, and had a documentary made about her life which won an academy award.

Charles Darwin, a well-known naturalist, biologist, geologist and author of the book, On the Origin of the Species, wasn't published until he was 50 years old.

The list goes on and on. For as long as we're alive, we have an obligation to live life to the fullest. While "living to the fullest" may look different depending on what we're going through, what we know, and what our interests are, whatever you're inspired to do, dive in to the full extent of your desire and potential. Success will always be an option for you.
